Role Overview

This role focuses on creating and enhancing animations for a variety of projects, including e.g., video games, commercials, explainer videos, social media content, etc. , with a significant emphasis on post-production workflows. We are looking for an individual with a strong understanding of animation principles, a keen eye for detail, and experience in integrating animations seamlessly into final products.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

Conceptualization & Design: Conceptualizing ideas for characters, scenes, backgrounds, and other animation elements. Creating character sketches for new animations based on design briefs. Developing storyboards for animation projects. Designing backgrounds, sets, and other elements of the animated environment. Creating 2D assets for animation.

Animation Production

Developing timing and pacing of motion, based on audio requirements. Creating animations using Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Premiere, and Adobe After Effects. Creating 2D visual effects for game animation (if applicable). Working with Game Developers to merge the various layers of animation (if applicable). Learning/Understanding new software for game development (if applicable).

Post-Production

Enhancing and manipulating existing footage using animation techniques. Integrating animations into final video or game projects. Collaborating with other creatives, including Illustrators, other animators, editors, and compositors, to finalize projects. Applying and adjusting visual effects, such as particle effects, motion graphics, and transitions. Ensuring seamless integration of animation and VFX with other post-production elements, such as sound design and color grading. Troubleshooting technical issues and providing creative solutions during the post-production process.

General Responsibilities

Maintaining a consistent style and quality across all projects. Meeting deadlines and managing time effectively. Staying up-to-date with the latest animation techniques and software. Maintaining organized project files and adhering to established workflows. Collaborating and communicating effectively with team members.

Qualifications

Proven experience as a 2D Animator, preferably with experience in post-production workflows. Strong understanding of animation principles (timing, spacing, anticipation, etc.). Proficiency in industry-standard 2D animation software, such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Premiere, and Adobe After Effects. Experience with rigging and character animation. Knowledge of visual effects techniques and compositing. Ability to work with pre-existing footage and integrate animation seamlessly. Excellent attention to detail and a strong visual sense. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong communication and collaboration skills. Ability to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
