Job Summary
We are looking for a talented and motivated 2D Animator to bring our game’s eerie and whimsical characters to life! If you have a strong sense of movement, timing, and personality in animation and are eager to work in a dynamic game development environment, we’d love to hear from you.
Responsibilities
Create high-quality 2D animations for characters, creatures, and UI elements using Adobe Animate (formerly Flash). Integrate animations into our proprietary Caliber Engine editor, ensuring smooth and polished results in-game. Collaborate closely with designers and artists to maintain the game’s unique style and animation requirements. Work within technical constraints to ensure optimized animations for real-time gameplay. Assist with VFX animation using tools available in the Caliber Engine editor to enhance character abilities and environmental effects. Iterate on feedback from the animation lead and game directors to refine animations.
Requirements
Proficiency in 2D animation with a strong understanding of timing, posing, and weight. Experience with Adobe Animate (Flash) or similar 2D animation software. A portfolio demonstrating fluid and expressive 2D character animations. Ability to adapt to proprietary tools and game engines (training on Caliber Engine will be provided). Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to take and implement feedback effectively.
Nice-to-Have
Experience in game animation pipelines, including sprite-based animation and real-time integration. Familiarity with VFX animation (e.g., energy effects, smoke, or impact effects) for gameplay. Basic understanding of rigging and optimizing animations for performance. Passion for turn-based strategy games or experience working on stylized game projects.
