Responsibilities
Design and create high-quality, realistic 3D environments based on project specifications. Integrate 3D assets into Unreal Engine with optimized performance and quality in mind. Collaborate with the art and design teams to ensure visual consistency across environments. Work within the game’s technical constraints and optimize assets for memory, performance, and stability. Troubleshoot and resolve any integration issues within Unreal Engine. Stay updated with industry trends, tools, and best practices.
Skills & Qualifications
Proficiency in English (both written and spoken) for effective communication. Strong knowledge of the 3D pipeline for games, including modeling, texturing, shading, lighting, and optimization. Proficient in 3D modeling software (e.g., Maya, Blender, 3ds Max). Strong texturing skills with tools like Substance Painter/Designer and Photoshop. Solid understanding of Unreal Engine and the ability to integrate, optimize, and troubleshoot assets within the engine. Experience with PBR (Physically Based Rendering) workflows. Ability to create optimized assets suitable for real-time rendering. Knowledge of level design principles and an eye for composition and storytelling. Basic understanding of shader creation and material setup in Unreal Engine. Familiarity with environment lighting in Unreal Engine. A keen eye for detail and dedication to achieving high-quality results.
Nice to have Skills
Experience with blueprint scripting in Unreal Engine. Knowledge of world-building and level layout in Unreal. Understanding of animation basics for environmental assets. Knowledge of optimization techniques for VR and mobile platforms.
Requirements
Portfolio demonstrating high-quality environment work. 2+ years of experience as a 3D Environment Artist in the gaming industry or similar. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively. Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to challenges.
