About Aviary Productions
Aviary Productions is currently seeking a 3D Gameplay Animator to join our team. We’re a collective of game developers and students united to create a high-quality portfolio game using Unreal Engine 5. The aim is to launch this game on Steam for free, showcasing multiple portfolio pieces for each contributor.
Position Details
This part-time position is unpaid, as our primary objective is to gather valuable experience in game development. We’re searching for candidates who display a willingness to learn and possess the drive to explore and enhance their skills. While prior knowledge of the required roles is preferred, we welcome individuals eager to specialize and grow in those areas, even if their expertise is limited.
Requirements
For this Job Posting specifically, we’re looking for someone with confident knowledge of Blender, or at the very least the willingness and creativity to learn Blender as you work.
Responsibilities
You will receive tasks every 1-2 weeks to create high-quality character, creature, and environmental animations. You will work alongside fellow animators, report and communicate consistently to and check in with the Lead Animator, and collaborate with other departments. Animate in Blender. Manage .fbx files; importing and exporting from Animation Software to Engine. Create, improve, adjust, and polish animations to fit the project vision. Attend weekly animation team meetings, as well as weekly studio-wide meetings. Learn industry-standard skills and build your portfolio
Qualifications
Enjoyment and ambition in game development and animation. Have previous work in creating animations in Blender or similar software like Maya (we use Blender, and have support for learning Blender if this is not your primary software). Have some knowledge of Unreal Engine. Willing to spend 15 hours a week to work on, check in about, and complete the task that was given to you! Willing to learn, improve your skills, and implement feedback. Able to effectively communicate with the team.
