3D Satellite Modeler

💰 Budget: 150$

Milestone 1

€50: One render is needed of a unique satellite design, with a 30-second animation of its functionalities.

Milestone 2

€100: The source code of the project, a secondary satellite design similar to this one, information will follow.

Video Quality

Technical feasibility is not needed. As you can see in the example video “lumen orbit”, a similar quality video is expected.

Satellite Function

The function of this satellite is orbital servicing & energy transfer on demand. It will attach to an alien satellite in orbit and transfer energy. In terms of the animation, you will display it charging energy through solar deployment(1), relocating to an alien satellite(2), attaching to that satellite(3) and transferring its energy(4).

Satellite Design

The satellite must be hexagonal in shape. It must have the rollable design as in the video. Segment 1 hosts main components like propulsion. Segment 2 contains inner components, and Segments 3 to 12 represent battery modules, with the outside (completely unfolded) being solar panels that expand. For a better clarification on the solar panels you can look at the fully open bird’s view sketch of both before, and after deploying (or sliding out) the solar panels.

Job Vision

It is your job to make this vision a reality. You don’t have to model the insides of each segment, don’t worry about feasibility, but you do have to worry about scale and about showcasing its capabilities. If done well, future jobs will go directly to you.
