💰 Budget: 1000$
BACKGROUND:
Mimms Museum of Technology and Art has a space for an exit area “Hall of Mirrors” which will provide an uplifting feeling of infinite space, and will recap some of the important ideas of the exhibition. Several visuals are attached to demonstrate the type of feeling we are seeking. We need your architectural skill to make several studies to determine where to place the mirrored walls for best effect, and show us high quality photorealistic renderings of them.
PARAMETERS:
1) A floor plan of the available area is attached, which we can’t change. The floor plan “Floor Plan Hall of Mirrors…” has a grid of 1′ squares. The black squares (G4, F4, etc) are structural columns. The outer perimeter areas in light blue gray are not part of the hall of mirrors. Visitors enter the space at the top of this diagram, and exit at the bottom left there will be a graphic on the wall (on opposite side of column F4) that announces the hall of mirrors to direct the visitor in.
2) There are ten major insights from this show that we would like to recap for the viewer, in the form of a visual mounted on the mirror. (see attached visual “cam_NumbersInNature_kids_0209…”) as an example of these visual recaps.
3) lighting is a crucial part of this exhibit- think through the placement of lights and include them in your renderings.
PLAN OF WORK:
Milestone 1: $250 Floor plan experiments Study the visuals attached for desired effect. Then using the floor plan attached, present at least 3 potential floor plans in plan view. We need your help deciding whether to use triangular or rectangular grid placement of mirrors- which will work best in our available floor plan and give the most dramatic spacial experience?
Milestone 2: $750 From your floor plan studies, render 2 views each of 3 floor plan ideas rendered to show the effects of lighting and mirrors.
DELIVERABLES:
6 photo realistic renderings, 2 each of 3 different floor plans. at least 1 of the plans should use a triangular grid of mirrors, at least one with a rectangular grid, and the third is up to you. Use your creative imagination and your rendering skill to conceive an amazing experience!
