We’re seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Animator to join us remotely and help us elevate our projects to new heights.

Role Overview

As one of our Animators, you will be responsible for crafting immersive and realistic first-person animations that enhance the player’s experience. Working closely with other animators, designers, and programmers, you will ensure that our character and weapons animations feel smooth, responsive, and true to the tactical nature of our game.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you’ll be in charge of: Hand Animating high-quality first-person animations for weapons, gadgets, and player interactions. In depth familiarity with firearm technical functionality as well as usage/safety/tactics Collaborating with designers, programmers, and artists to ensure animations align with gameplay mechanics and feel satisfying. Implementing and tuning animations into the game engine (Unreal Engine) while ensuring technical feasibility and performance optimisation. Refining animations based on play-testing feedback and gameplay requirements. Maintaining animation consistency with the game’s visual and gameplay style. Assisting in defining and improving animation workflows and pipelines to maximise efficiency and quality. Troubleshooting animation-related issues and proactively finding solutions. Staying up to date with industry trends, tools, and techniques to push the quality of our animations forward.

Qualifications

Here’s what you’ll bring to the team: Minimum of 3 years experience in animation, with significant experience with first-person animations in video games. Proficiency in Autodesk Maya and MotionBuilder Experience working with Unreal Engine 5, including implementing and tweaking animations using the engine’s animation tools (AnimBlueprints, Sequencer, etc.). A strong understanding of weight, timing, and motion principles, particularly for first-person animations. Proficiency in keyframe animation and working with motion capture data. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote development environment. Strong problem-solving skills and a keen eye for detail. Passion for FPS games and an understanding of what makes first-person animations feel impactful and immersive.

Bonus Qualifications

Bonus Points if you have: Experience working on a first-person shooter game, especially in a realistic/tactical setting. Familiarity with scripting and animation state machines in Unreal Engine. Experience with rigging and skinning. Knowledge of animation physics and animation techniques.
