Job Description

We’re seeking a talented Blender Artist who thrives on storytelling through animation. This role is all about creating emotionally impactful, cinematic cutscenes for a story-driven indie game. You’ll collaborate with a Unity dev and game writer to craft in-game moments that feel like a movie — immersive, dramatic, and deeply connected to the player’s journey.

What You’ll Do

Rig and animate 3D characters, props, and environments in Blender
Storyboard scenes and bring ideas to life with strong visual timing
Animate expressive performances (facial + body language) for storytelling
Use cameras, lighting, and pacing to build tension, emotion, and rhythm
Export animations cleanly into Unity (FBX workflow, including rigs & baked anims)
Work closely with devs to sync animation with dialogue, gameplay triggers, and pacing
Help define the game’s cinematic tone and contribute to creative direction

Who You Are

Strong Blender skills – character rigging, keyframe animation, camera animation
Passionate about visual storytelling and building mood through movement
Experience with Unity import/export pipeline (or eager to learn fast)
Comfortable working async, taking initiative, and communicating ideas visually
Bonus: Experience with facial animation or mocap cleanup

Compensation

This is a rev-share opportunity — everyone on the project splits revenue based on what they bring to the table. No upfront pay, but full creative credit, long-term payoff potential, and the chance to co-build something from the ground up alongside a small, passionate team.
