About Us

Afterglow Interactive is an independent game development studio working on Target: Galaxy, a first-person action-investigation RPG set in a deep-space cyberpunk universe. We are crafting a rich and immersive world with a unique blend of sci-fi and noir aesthetics, and we need talented artists to help bring this vision to life.

Role Overview

We are looking for a creative and passionate Concept Artist to help shape the visual identity of Target: Galaxy. This voluntary role is ideal for artists looking to build a portfolio, gain industry experience, and work in a team-driven indie environment.

Key Responsibilities

Create environment, character, weapon, and prop concepts that align with the game’s cyberpunk and sci-fi aesthetic. Work closely with 3D artists and game designers to establish a consistent art direction. Develop mood boards, colour palettes, and keyframe illustrations to define the game’s atmosphere. Iterate on designs based on team feedback to refine the artistic vision. Maintain a balance between creative freedom and the established world-building of Target: Galaxy.

Requirements

Strong skills in digital painting, sketching, and visual storytelling. A solid grasp of composition, lighting, and perspective. Passion for sci-fi, cyberpunk aesthetics, and immersive world-building. Ability to work independently and meet deadlines. Bonus: Experience with 3D blockouts, Blender, or Unreal Engine workflows is a plus.

What You’ll Gain

Hands-on experience in indie game development. A portfolio piece showcasing your contributions to a fully realized project. The opportunity to work in a collaborative team environment with experienced developers. Industry connections and networking opportunities. Your name in the credits of a published title, solidifying your contribution to the industry. The ability to list a registered game studio on your CV, enhancing your credibility and future job opportunities. Potential for future paid opportunities based on project funding.
