Job Description
The CFX artist creates photo realistic and believable simulations and deformation for various creatures and characters, ensuring they are meeting with the high quality standard of Rodeo FX.
Main Responsibilities
Create simulation and deformation set ups for hair, fur, cloth, feather, muscles and skin, always making sure they meet the project requirements ;Run simulations in shots and address any notes ;Work closely with other department supervisors and leads, as well as the head of the CFX department, to find creative and technical solutions and approaches that meet project requirements and deadlines ;Participate in the development of tools and techniques for the department ;Perform quality control on shots before they are submitted for review/approval, ensuring all technical and creative standards are met, and promptly apply notes received ;Keep Production and the project team informed of the status of work, issues to be resolved, ramifications of problems encountered and recommend potential solutions ;Help create and maintain department documentation of current pipeline, tools and techniques ;Ensure deadlines are met, advising the project team promptly if delays could be expected.
Qualifications
Experience in a similar position, within the VFX industry ;Excellent knowledge of Houdini ;Experience with shot modelling ;Experience in creating simulation setups for specific production needs ;Excellent sense of prioritization and respect of deadlines.
