About The Job
We’re looking for an exceptional Illustrator with a flair for animation and a strong foundation in creative design to join TryHackMe on a fixed-term contract. You’ll play a big part in bringing the platform to life by shaping our new company mascot, animating key lesson content, and building the visual style that defines our product.
This role is perfect for someone who’s not just a great artist, but someone who gets how illustration, animation, and design can work together to make learning genuinely fun. From animated badges to custom lesson visuals, you’ll be creating work that’s seen by millions of people. We want someone who’s excited by the idea of helping TryHackMe become an iconic brand and giving users an unforgettable learning experience.
Responsibilities
Illustrate content for courses, landing pages, social media, and more
Animate badges, characters, and lesson visuals in Rive (used across our product)
Lead the development of our mascot “Echo” – designing expressions, poses, and character moments
Collaborate with the content and product teams to deliver engaging, on-brand visual work
Create occasional brand assets for slides, campaigns, and internal projects
Requirements
2+ years experience in illustration or design
Ability to animate in Rive, or willingness to learn it quickly (non-negotiable for this role)
Portfolio showcasing strong illustration skills (character design, digital assets, environments)
Experience designing expressive characters and visuals that work in product
Comfortable working in Illustrator (our primary drawing tool)
Strong design sense, great eye for detail, layout, and visual consistency
Proactive, independent, and happy working at pace
