Responsibilities

ABOUT THE POSITION

Support Projects

Involved in early project set-up with stakeholders such as kick-off, testing and documentation.  Collaborate with client, IT team, Tech Dept, Production teams during projects’ timeline to tackle any tech related issues. Be the bridge and main point of contact between art production and clients on any technical concerns Create clear and accurate technical documentation, training sessions or tools for production teams to increase production efficiency.

Training And Mentoring

Mentor and supervise junior TA members. Offer coaching and training to junior TAs as necessary. Sending monthly report and evaluation regarding junior team members to team leader.

R&d

Spending partial time on R&D activities, exploring new technologies and doing necessary training for the team. Contribute ideas, tools, workflow for Tech Dept and Production teams

Qualifications

A minimum of 2 years of experience in 3D art or video game industry. Familiarity with digital content creation software like Maya, Blender, Substance Painter, … Familiarity with at least 1 programming language or shader language or visual programming. ⁠Understanding of physically based rendering (PBR), lighting and shading. Good verbal and written communication skills in English, able to clearly communicate ideas and technical knowledge. Good problem-solving skills. Independent, pro-active, showing initiative. 

Nice to Have

Game engine experience, e.g., Unreal, Unity. At least one shipped title in a Technical Artist role on the development of a video game. Familiarity with Git or Perforce. Willingness to read legacy, large, codebase. Scripting APIs of 3D software like Maya, Mari, ZBrush, Substance Painter, …
