About Mawforged:

Mawforged is a first-person dark fantasy strategic warfare game developed in Unreal Engine. Players lead factions through brutal combat, political maneuvering, and resource-driven warfare deep within the cavernous underground world known as the Maw. We’re looking for a Technical Animator to bridge the gap between animation and engineering—bringing weight, impact, and fluidity to our characters, creatures, and cinematic moments.

What you’ll do:

• Set up and maintain rigs for characters, creatures, and props
• Work with animators and character artists to ensure clean deformation and rig flexibility
• Implement animation systems in Unreal Engine 5 (Animation Blueprints, State Machines, IK/FK systems)
• Troubleshoot animation issues (clipping, skinning, retargeting, etc.)
• Collaborate with the gameplay and cinematic teams for smooth integration

You should have:

• Experience rigging and skinning characters in Maya, Blender, or similar
• Strong knowledge of Unreal Engine 5’s animation tools (Control Rig, Sequencer, etc.)
• Familiarity with both real-time gameplay and cinematic animation pipelines
• Good understanding of anatomy, constraints, and animation logic
• Ability to solve complex technical problems creatively

Bonus points:

• Experience with dynamic simulations (cloth, hair, physics-driven bones)
• Familiarity with motion capture cleanup and retargeting
• Experience setting up procedural animation systems or tools
• Passion for dark fantasy and gritty, stylized movement
