Job Description
As a Technical Artist, you will play a crucial role in bridging the gap between artistry and technology to bring our immersive experiences to life. You will work closely with our talented team of artists, designers, and engineers to optimize workflows, implement visual effects, and ensure the seamless integration of art assets into our projects. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual with a passion for both art and technology.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with artists, designers, and engineers to implement art assets into immersive experiences. Optimize art assets and shaders for performance across various VR platforms. Create and implement visual effects, including particle systems and dynamic lighting. Assist in the development of tools and pipelines to streamline art production workflows. Troubleshoot technical issues related to art asset integration and performance. Stay updated on the latest industry trends and emerging technologies in VR development.
Requirements
Strong understanding of 3D graphics principles, including modeling, texturing, lighting, and rendering. Proficiency in at least one 3D software package (e.g., Maya, Blender, 3ds Max). Experience with shader programming and material creation in Unity or Unreal Engine. Basic understanding of scripting languages such as Python or C#. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Experience creating real-time VFX for Unity or Unreal Engine.
Bonus Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Graphics, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Experience with VR development and optimization. Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git, GitLab). Knowledge of additional art-related software (e.g., Substance Painter, ZBrush). Strong portfolio demonstrating technical art skills and creativity. Basic knowledge of HLSL. Familiarity with the graphics pipeline and/or Scriptable Render Pipelines.
