About the Role

We are hiring a UE5 Technical Artist to help us drive real-time content execution and art content pipeline innovation. This role focuses on asset integration, performance optimization, R&D, and enabling art teams through tooling and documentation. Your focus will be building stable, scalable, and visually performant content, tools, systems and workflows in Unreal Engine 5.

This role exists at the core of production, linking technical knowledge with artistic ambitions. You’ll reduce complexity, increase throughput, and protect performance across the pipeline while achieving and helping the art teams achieve stunning visual results. We’re building docs, workflows, tools and systems that should be transferred also to new projects, and we need visual flow to get us there.

Core Responsibilities

• Understand the Integration and optimization of 3D/2D assets using UE5’s content tools• Understand Nanite and Lumen’s performance characteristics and nuances• Develop and manage Blueprints, Master Materials, and Level content with technical performance in mind• Support asset creators with technical guidance, technical documentation and ensuring proper DCC-to-engine flow• Execute profiling and debugging to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks when necessary• Understand UE tools for profiling, and know when to escalate deeper performance or engine issues to other teams• Investigate emerging technologies and Unreal Engine features to inform future pipeline improvements• Prototype new systems (functional and non-functional) to validate technical feasibility and production value• Document R&D results and share findings through internal guidelines, trainings, and tooling support• Uphold internal technical standards through authoring and refining content guidelines

Required Technical Skills

• Deep experience with Unreal Engine 5: Blueprints, Material Editor, Content Browser, asset integration• Strong understanding of content creation workflows, PBR pipelines, and asset optimization best practices• Proficiency in source control systems (Perforce, Git)• Familiarity with DCC tools (e.g. Blender, Maya, Substance) sufficient for basic support where necessary and helping artists finding good workflows• Capable understanding the importance of balancing visual fidelity and technical constraints in content pipelines• Confident in profiling workflows and debugging common real-time performance issues

Wil be a plus:

• You had prior authorship of technical guidelines or compliance frameworks• You have a good understanding of UE5’s rendering pipelines• You have experience in UE5 content creation (Nanite, Lumen, VSM, etc…)• Houdini or procedural workflows experience• Experience in large-scale or open-world UE5 game projects• Work Format
