Overview
We are seeking talented Unity Environment Artists to work on an ongoing project. These opportunities are not immediate but are expected in the next few months (estimated for Summer and Autumn 2025). We are seeking expressions of interest from skilled professionals who specialize in crafting engaging, realistic environments within the Unity game engine.
About the Project
Our latest game, set in World War 2, combines design, strategy, and action elements, allowing players to build and utilize vehicles, buildings, and infantry weapons across various level types. The game supports real-time strategy modes as well as immersive first-person and third-person perspectives. This PC game is backed by a well-known publisher, ensuring professional handling of contracts and wages.
Role Description
The role of the Unity Environment Artist will involve enhancing the visual appeal and realism of game levels. While the mechanics and game-dependent objects will be pre-placed, the artistic challenge lies in beautifying and optimizing the environments to ensure they are both visually stunning and perform efficiently.
Job Responsibilities Include
Creating and detailing terrain, including painting terrain textures and adding environmental elements such as trees, grass, and rocks. Utilizing post-processing and advanced lighting techniques to achieve high visual standards. Optimizing level performance to maintain game fluidity, including the use of LODs and billboarding for efficient rendering.
Required Skills
Proven experience in level design and scene layout within Unity. Strong familiarity with Unity’s terrain and environmental tools.
Desirable Skills
Proficiency in version control systems, preferably Git.
