VR Technical Artist Overview
This role focuses on providing technical art support for both co-developed and internally developed projects. The ideal candidate will collaborate with artists, designers, and engineers to optimize content creation processes, improve asset integration, and enhance workflow efficiency. The position starts as a 6-month contract with the potential for extension.

$35 – $43/hr, paid weekly, benefits eligible
VR Technical Artist Duties
Support technical art needs across multiple projects, ensuring smooth asset integration and pipeline efficiency. Develop and maintain tools to streamline 3D art asset workflows. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance content creation processes. Troubleshoot and debug art-related issues in Unity, providing optimization recommendations. Create and maintain technical documentation for tools, workflows, and best practices.
VR Technical Artist Requirements
2+ years of experience in a technical art role, with at least 1-2 shipped titles. Proficiency in Unity, including recent hands-on experience. Strong understanding of content creation workflows and asset integration. Experience with scripting languages such as C#, Python, or MEL for tool and pipeline development. Experience working with Unity for VR, mobile, PC, and console. Ability to profile in-game assets and provide optimization strategies. Strong portfolio or reel showcasing executed game technical art.
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with C# and Unity Visual Scripting. Experience with VFX and Unity VFXGraph. Proficiency in Unity Material/Shaders, Shader Graph, and Amplify. Experience with Unity’s animation and rigging tools. Practical knowledge of keyframing, particle systems, physics simulations, and rigid/soft body dynamics.
