Job Description
We have three mannequin-style robot bodies, one male, one female, and one gender-neutral. All follow our beige, segmented-spine aesthetic, yet each draft has slight mismatches in proportions, limb spacing, and surface continuity. Your mission is to clean, align, and rig these drafts so they can plug into our SMPL-X animation and evaluation pipeline with no refactoring on our side.
Key Responsibilities
Download and inspection
• Access the FBX drafts and reference SMPL assets in the Google Drive links we supply at contract start.
• Verify that you can load SMPL-X (you will need a free research license from smpl-x.is.tue.mpg.de).
Mesh cleanup and visual harmony
• Remove non-manifold geometry, flipped normals, stray verts.
• Match global scale, spine gap, limb lengths, and silhouette so the three bodies form a coherent set.
• Keep the exposed-spine motif intact.
Topology and optimization
• Maintain original vertex order. Our evaluation compares indices directly.
• Retopo or decimate only if a model exceeds 150 k faces, preserving clean edge flow around major joints.
Rigging
• Bind each mesh to the provided SMPL-X armature (identical joint names and hierarchy).
• Paint weights for smooth bends at shoulders, elbows, hips, and knees.
• Test with our sample motion file and confirm no clipping or collapses.
Material pass
• Create one neutral PBR material per model (albedo, roughness, normal). A clean stylized beige finish is enough.
Documentation
• Provide a concise README listing changes, final triangle counts, and any rigging notes.
