Role Overview

As a 3D Designer at ClearCoast Technologies, you will be responsible for creating precise 3D models and designs for autonomous/hand-controlled robots that aid in the collection of debris from beaches and waterways. You will play a crucial role in translating complex environmental needs into actionable design solutions. Success in this role means delivering high-quality, efficient, and scalable designs that meet the operational requirements of our robots while ensuring they align with our eco-conscious mission.

Responsibilities

Design and develop 3D models and mechanical components using CAD software such as Fusion 360 and SolidWorks to create prototypes and final designs for beach-cleaning robots. Collaborate with the engineering and robotics teams to ensure designs are feasible, functional, and can be integrated into our existing systems. Develop user requirements for systems in production to ensure designs meet both technical specifications and usability standards. Conduct simulations and tests to evaluate the performance of designs and make necessary adjustments to optimize robot functionality. Maintain detailed design documentation and assist with revisions to designs based on testing feedback. Work closely with project managers to ensure designs are aligned with project timelines and milestones. Continuously innovate and refine design processes to improve efficiency, sustainability, and cost-effectiveness of the robots.

Qualifications

2-4 years of CAD experience with expertise in 3D modeling using Fusion 360 and SolidWorks. Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and their application in robotics. Proven experience with design for manufacturability, especially in the context of autonomous systems. Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey technical details effectively. Detail-oriented with a focus on delivering high-quality work in a timely manner. Passion for environmental sustainability and a desire to contribute to the development of innovative solutions for pollution cleanup.
