Job Description
We have 21 items that need to be rendered as SketchUp models. Attached is a link to a Google Sheet showing 20 items, visual appearance, and dimensions, plus one additional item.
Rendering Requirements
These do not need to be photo-realistic renderings, just accurate dimensions and approximate colors. Where wood is indicated, please map the wood texture onto the model.
Resources Supplied
Google Sheet with dimensions, photos, and materials, wood swatch, and example SketchUp model showing the degree of rendering required.
Deliverables
1) Please make each item as a separate file. The only exception is the nesting tables – you can put those into a single file. 2) Duplicate the item so that the file contains the quantity available (indicated on the Google Sheet).
Naming and Tagging
3) Name each file with what it is (e.g., pedestal display, table, nesting tables, etc.) include the overall dimensions in inches of the object in the filename, e.g., 60H30W30D.4) For those objects with transparent objects, please put the transparent surfaces as a separate tag, so they can be turned off easily.
Display Marker
5) Please put a blank display marker above each item so that we can add the name of the item being displayed as we arrange our exhibit. See the example file included here for the appearance and dimensions of the display marker. Tag the display markers separately so they can easily be turned off.
File Optimization
6) Please keep file sizes as small as possible. These models are for space planning purposes and exhibit visualization, so dimensions are important, but exact appearance can be approximated to keep file size small.
BeBox Computer
We are going to display a computer called a BeBox – we need a SketchUp model of it. The BeBox computer case measures 15.68 inches in height, 8.28 inches in width, and 18.15 inches in depth (39.8 cm × 21.0 cm × 46.1 cm).
File Structure
7) The files you are creating will be used to help keep track of the display furniture in use, and to track how many are left, and whether we need to order more. So please set up each file in the structure shown, i.e., with the number available in the first zone, the number used in the second zone, and new orders to be placed in the third zone.
Additional Notes
Notes: The wood pedestals are 3/4″ thick Baltic Birch—use texture supplied. The transparent bonnets are 1/4″ thick.
