Illustration Animator (Remote Contract Role)
Key Responsibilities
Your primary role will be to bring illustrations to life through engaging animations that enhance user experience and storytelling. Design and develop high-quality animations and motion graphics for websites, mobile applications, SaaS products, and digital marketing campaigns. Animate characters, objects, and UI elements to create engaging interactions and smooth transitions. Work on storyboard development, character animation, micro-interactions, and motion sequences. Collaborate with UI/UX designers, product managers, and developers to integrate animations seamlessly into digital products. Optimize animations for performance and responsiveness across different devices and platforms. Research industry trends and best practices to ensure animations are innovative and aligned with modern design standards. Iterate on animations based on feedback from stakeholders, usability testing, and analytics.
Animation & Motion Graphics Expertise
Proficiency in animation tools such as Adobe After Effects, Spine, Lottie, or similar motion design software. Experience with SVG animations, GIF creation, and interaction animations for web and mobile applications. Ability to create seamless transitions, micro-interactions, and engaging motion graphics that enhance the user experience.
Design & User Experience Knowledge
Strong understanding of UI/UX principles and how animation contributes to a positive user experience. Ability to translate static illustrations into dynamic motion graphics that elevate usability and storytelling. Familiarity with design tools like Figma, Adobe Illustrator, and Photoshop for asset creation.
Collaboration & Communication Skills
Ability to work effectively with UI/UX designers, developers, and product teams to bring animation concepts to life. Strong communication skills to present animation ideas and explain design choices. Willingness to iterate on animations based on feedback and usability testing.
Qualifications
Proven experience as an Animation Designer or Motion Graphics Designer in the tech or digital product industry. A strong portfolio showcasing animation work, particularly for web applications, mobile apps, SaaS platforms, or digital branding. Experience working in a collaborative team environment, engaging with multiple departments or teams. Excellent attention to detail, time-management skills, and a strong work ethic. A passion for animation, storytelling, and user-centric design.
