Louis MacNeice Society is seeking a passionate and talented Artist Intern to join our team. This position presents a unique opportunity for students and emerging artists to enhance both their professional and personal artistic development in a nurturing and intellectually stimulating environment. The ideal candidate will deeply respect and understand the art of poetry, allowing them to effectively communicate its essence through their artwork.
Responsibilities
Familiarise yourself thoroughly with the poetry of Louis MacNeice and modernist art. Produce artwork inspired by the poems you read. Participate in weekly demonstrations to showcase your findings and creative processes based on assigned tasks. Maintain regular communication with me through email or Microsoft Teams, fostering an open dialogue about your progress and ideas.
Qualifications
A degree in arts, literature, or a related field is required. Evidence of artistic ability and a portfolio showcasing your work must be provided. A genuine passion for poetry is essential, along with a deep appreciation for the art form that enables you to engage readers through your creations. Strong artistic skills with the capability to craft engaging and thought-provoking pieces are crucial. Excellent communication skills, willingness to accept feedback, and a creative mindset are highly valued. Familiarity with artistic methods and an established professional online portfolio are respected. Confidence in your communication abilities and eagerness to participate in online seminars is necessary. A strong web presence and the ability to create high-quality art are significant assets.
