XR Technical Artist at Basemark – Finland
(This position is a hybrid role at our Helsinki office, as you will be working with smart helmets, smart glasses, and other physical applications of AR! So please be sure you can visit our office in Punavuori a few days a week) Are you an experienced and seasoned Technical Artist, who is intrigued by a future with AR? Team – AR StudioInside Basemark, we have created the AR Studio, an Augmented Reality creation platform for the automotive and defense industries. This platform helps propel our mission: to bring AR ensuring the right information is shown at the right time and place — across head-mounted, handheld, or in-vehicle displays. By reducing the need to shift attention between different systems or interfaces, AR helps defense personnel stay focused, make faster and better decisions, and react to dynamic situations with greater precision. Our team of engineers, designers and artists is now looking for a visionary AR Technical Artist to help us build a functional AR in real world defense with a great Design and UX, using our AR Studio. Our team and studio help show customers what they can actually make with today’s AR tech. The Job:You will Create technical implementation of each designWork hand-in-hand with both the design team and engineering team in order to bring said design to lifeCreate 2D and 3D assets based on designImplement the design in AR Studio with the team Strive to improve UX of the design and implementationCreate tools to simplify development workflow for you and your team RequirementsYou have VR or AR experiencean understanding of the limitations of Unity, Unreal, etcKnowledge of shaders (GLSL) and shading techniquesExcellent understanding of 3D graphics pipelinesKnowledge of optimization techniques for embedded hardwareKnowledge of OpenXRExperience in 3D graphics tools: Blender or Autodesk Maya Experience in 2D design tools: Photoshop or Illustrator (or equivalent)Effective written and verbal communication Bonus skillsGood to know Lua Node graphs Unity, or Unreal С++ Who are you?Aesthetic.
