As a Senior Environment Artist, you will collaborate with the 3D Art team—including the Art Director, Art Leads, Concept Artists, and fellow 3D Artists—to create landscapes, environments, and models for an unannounced project. The ideal candidate understands that building environments goes beyond simply filling spaces with beautiful assets; it is an opportunity to help tell the story of the world players inhabit. What You’ll Do Here: Create landscapes using our own proprietary terrain systemCreate models and set dress these landscapes to support the narrative and gameplayEstablish environmental lighting and atmosphere for new or existing levelsCreate environmental FX such as particles, god rays, fog, bloom, exposure, etc. Work closely with technical artists to create custom shadersCollaborate with project leads, concept artists, and designersBrainstorm ideas and create rapid prototypes during the concept phaseSupport the rest of the modeling team to create cosmetic and level contentAssist other departments throughout the studio on environment or modeling needs Must Haves: 5+ years of experience working in gamesProficient modeling skills in Maya or equivalentStrong sense of composition, lighting, and color theorySelf-motivated, humble, and a team playerOpen-minded and great at handling criticismPassionate about creating unique and innovative 3D look Nice to Haves: A passionate Sky playerAbility to design gameplay levels and spacesKnowledgeable on ancient civilization and culturesA love for games especially titles similar to Flower, Journey or Sky! The salary range for this position is $120,000 to $170,000 USD annually, with the opportunity to earn an annual discretionary bonus.
