What They Look for in Your Portfolio

✨ FX Artists

Bardel FX work is done in Houdini. Show simulations (fire, water, destruction, cloth), VDB volumes, and composited results. TV productions move fast, so demonstrate ability to deliver polished FX efficiently, not just show off complex simulations.

💡 Lighting Artists

Show episodic lighting experience. Bardel lights in Maya with Arnold or a similar renderer. Include examples of matching an established show’s lighting style, not just standalone hero shots. Speed and consistency matter more than perfection.

🎥 Compositing Artists

Bardel compositing is done in Nuke. Show multi-layer CG compositing, light wrapping, and color matching. TV episodic compositing is about throughput. Include examples from full sequences, not just individual shots.

🌌 Matte Painters

Show environment extensions, sky replacements, and seamless integration of 2D matte elements into 3D scenes. Blender compositing experience is a plus given Bardel’s established Blender pipeline.
