What is the average CG generalist salary?

Using ArtBlast 3D bands, junior generalists earn $55K-$75K, mid-level $65K-$88K, and senior $88K-$135K in the US. Lead roles range from $115K to $170K depending on studio and location.

What does a CG generalist do?

A CG generalist works across the whole 3D pipeline, from modeling and texturing to lighting and rendering. Generalists are common at smaller studios and in advertising where one artist owns a shot end to end.

Is it better to be a generalist or a specialist?

Both have strong careers. Generalists thrive at small studios and in fast turnarounds; specialists go deep for big-budget games and film. ArtBlast lists both.

Are there remote CG generalist jobs?

Yes. Generalist work is highly remote-friendly. ArtBlast includes work model info on every listing so you can filter by remote, hybrid, or on-site.
