SEGA hires artists in Tokyo, at SEGA's divisions including Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio and at Atlus, at SEGA Sapporo Studio, and at its UK studios: Creative Assembly in Horsham, Sports Interactive in London and Two Point Studios in Farnham. Rovio makes Angry Birds games in Finland, Spain, Denmark, Sweden and Canada.
Does SEGA own Atlus and Creative Assembly?
Atlus is fully owned by SEGA SAMMY HOLDINGS, the parent of SEGA Corporation, and Creative Assembly, Sports Interactive and Two Point Studios are SEGA's UK studios. Relic Entertainment and Amplitude Studios were sold in 2024 and are no longer part of SEGA.

Atlus postings in October 2026 listed an expected ¥4.8 million to ¥9.4 million a year for 3D character, 2D background and UI designers, SEGA's new graduates with a bachelor's degree start at ¥330,000 a month, and Rovio Toronto listed CAD $70,000 to $90,000 for mid-level 2D and 3D artists in 2026.
Do I need to speak Japanese to work at SEGA?
For roles in Japan, usually yes: Atlus requires JLPT N2-level Japanese for its art director and lists JLPT level 1 for UI design, and Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio asks for Japanese good enough for smooth work communication. The UK studios and Rovio hire in English.
Does SEGA allow remote work?
Mostly hybrid. Creative Assembly works three days a week in the studio, Sports Interactive two to three, and Two Point four days in the office with Fridays at home. Atlus allows up to two days a week from home by discussion.
