Mid-Level Motion DesignerMotion Designer (Editor / Motion Hybrid)Full-Time | Remote (Boston or Austin preferred) Pennant Video is a creative studio specializing in mid-funnel video marketing for B2B brands in cyber-security, health tech, SaaS and sustainability. What that means in practice: we produce live-action and motion-driven videos that combine strong editorial storytelling with motion graphics and visual effects. We help our clients’ customers make informed decisions with hard-working videos – from brand anthems and product explainers to testimonial-driven case studies. As a small team of producers, writers, editors, designers, and multi-hyphenate creatives, we take the work seriously – and enjoy the process of making it. Right now, we’re seeking a mid-level Motion Designer (4–7 years of relevant professional experience) to join our team. This role is motion-first, with meaningful collaboration as an editor when a project requires. Position OverviewThe Motion Designer will develop and execute motion graphics across a range of branded video projects. Many of our projects combine live-action footage, editorial structure, kinetic typography, animation, and compositing. The ideal candidate is comfortable operating within that mixed-media environment. This role works closely with creative leadership and contributes to both client projects and Pennant-branded visibility content (marketing, socials, etc). Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and animate motion graphics for branded video projectsTranslate creative direction and storyboards into polished motion sequencesIntegrate motion graphics with live-action footageExecute compositing, tracking, and light VFX tasks as neededCollaborate with editors to support motion-driven buildsEdit projects in Premiere when appropriatePrepare and organise project files for efficient team collaboration QualificationsRequired:Based in greater Boston, MA or Austin, TX area4–7 years of professional experience in motion design within a production company, agency or in-house creative teamAdvanced proficiency in Adobe After EffectsStrong working knowledge of Adobe PremiereExperience designing for motion (typography, layout, animation systems)Familiarity with FigmaExperience working within brand systemsAbility to manage multiple projects and meet deadlinesPreferred:Experience working in mixed-media environments (live-action + motion + VFX)Experience collaborating closely with editors and directorsExperience building scalable branded motion systems Why You'd Be a Great FitYou’ll thrive in this role if you’ve built real experience inside video production environments and have developed both strong motion design capabilities and an editor’s mindset – someone who understands how pieces come together, not just how they move.
